Eric Verschuur and Anton Duchkov meeting with SWAG

Dr. Eric Verschuur is Associate Professor at Delft, Netherlands. He is an expert in the field of Multiple Attenuation and Seismic Processing in general. 

Dr. Anton Duchkov is a Senior Research Scientist at the Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics SB RAS, Novosibirsk.

They will meet with SWAG group on 9th of May 2012.

Professor Tariq Alkhalifah and Xuxin Ma are participating in the 15th International Workshop on Seismic Anisotropy held from April 14th to 19th in Bahrain. The workshop is organized by the Dhahran Geoscience Society (GDS).

KAUST-SWAG reach the final in SEG Challenge Bowl

he team with Bingmu and Ali reached the final in the SEG Challenge
Bowl competition at the GEO 2012, where they lost from the PI team.
The result was determined literally on the last question.

11 abstracts from SWAG group have been accepted at the 74th EAGE Conference & Exhibition to be held in Copenhagen from 4th to 7th of June 2012.

The 22nd International Geophysical Conference & Exhibition will be held from 26th – 29th February 2012 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Professor Tariq Alkhalifah will be a key note speaker.

Presentations by Alexey Stovas and Anton Duchkov

Dr. Anton Duchkov shall be presenting his work on Isochron rays (rays for PERM) and wave packets. His presentation will be on the 18th of February at 4:00PM. It will be in room 3119, level 3, building 1.

Professor Alexey Stovas shall present on traveltime and dispersion relation approximations for anisotropic media. The presentation will be on Monday 20th February at 3:00PM. It will be in room 3309, level 3, building 1.

Professor Alexey Stovas from NTNU and Dr. Anton Duchkov from Trofimuk Institute of Petroluem Geology and Geophysics will be visiting SWAG at KAUST on the 17th of February 2012. They will be here for 5 days and collaborate in research with the SWAG group members.
